Which data allowance are you using?
Wi-Fi describes the connection to a router, not the amount of data available. If a television uses a mobile hotspot or mobile router, check the allowance for the connection providing that internet access.
Keep connection speed, data allowance and IPTV plan duration separate. The price of a TV plan does not tell you how much mobile data remains. A 4G or 5G label alone does not confirm viewing options for your device and location either.
Prepare a useful measurement
- Choose playback that already works. Record the device, app and settings you are using.
- Check the counter and connection. Note the starting usage and time. Keep existing statistics; you need the difference between two readings.
- Watch for a measured period. Where possible, avoid large downloads or updates during the comparison.
- Stop playback and take another reading. Record the ending usage and duration. Ending usage minus starting usage gives the measured difference.
- Repeat for different use. One short measurement does not represent every programme, setting or subsequent day of viewing.
On Pixel phones, check mobile-network settings and app data usage for the selected period. Other models may use different menus. Google’s Pixel instructions.
On iPhone or iPad, check the Cellular/Mobile Data section and app usage. With two SIMs, check the selected data line. Apple’s cellular-data instructions.
If a television uses a shared connection, a phone’s individual app counter may not be the right measurement. Use an available counter for that connection and note whether it also includes other devices or tasks. That result is total observed usage, not necessarily IPTV alone.
A hypothetical example: minutes into hours
An arithmetic example, not a measurement of our service
Suppose a hypothetical measurement showed 300 MB used over 20 minutes:
300 MB ÷ 20 minutes × 60 = 900 MB per hour
Using decimal conversion, 1000 MB = 1 GB, so this is 0.9 GB per hour. Ten hours of similar viewing would use approximately 9 GB by this estimate.
This is not a statement about resolution, speed or actual usage of our plan. Replace the example with your own measurement.
Calculator and data-allowance planner
Enter the difference between your ending and starting readings, the measurement duration and your planned viewing hours. If the counter shows GB, multiply that amount by 1000 and enter MB. To plan by day, add your remaining allowance and days remaining.
The measurement must last more than 0 minutes. Use the two optional fields together. The result is a calculation from your entries, not a service measurement or guaranteed usage.
Compare the estimate with your data allowance
Allow for other use on the same connection: browsing, updates, downloads and other devices. Check your billing period and remaining allowance with your mobile provider. Phone and provider measurements may differ; this estimate is not a billing record.
If you will watch abroad, check your roaming data allowance before travelling too. For your viewing country and device, use the Slovenian IPTV abroad guide. If playback stops, use the playback troubleshooting guide rather than increasing the usage estimate without evidence.
Questions about data usage
Does Wi-Fi always mean I am not using mobile data?
No. Check which connection supplies internet to the router or hotspot. With a shared mobile connection, monitor that connection’s data allowance.
Does the calculator show IPTV Slovenija’s actual data usage?
No. It calculates from the values you enter. A short measurement estimates similar use; it does not guarantee usage across every programme or device.
Do I need to reset statistics before measuring?
Not for this method. Record starting and ending readings within the same period and calculate the difference. You do not need to erase existing statistics.
Check your connection and plan separately.
Our plans are 1 month for €10, 3 months for €20 and 12 months for €50—the total prices for those periods. To check viewing options, send your country, device model and connection details.
